Favorite Fictional Dogs: Top 11 Pawsome Pooches

Who is your favorite famous fictional dog? There are literally hundreds and hundreds to choose from, but somehow we've managed to narrow our list down to our Top 11 Paw-some Pooches. We didn't have the heart to give one dog the boot to make it an even Top 10, so we included them all! Enjoy the trip through memory lane. Some of these will take you straight back to your childhood!

1. Comet

The friendly, lovable golden retriever from Full House stole our hearts from the beginning. Right before our eyes, we watched him grow from a puppy to a full-grown dog… right along with the Olsen twins!

2. Lassie

Lassie was the most well-trained and loyal dog around! He was always just a whistle away for his best friend, Timmy.

3. Snoopy

Charlie Brown's beloved sidekick is one of the most popular comic characters in the world. We find his sassy attitude to be both contagious and heartwarming as he dances his way across the page or screen.

4. Clifford

Everyone (or at least every child) knows who the big red dog is! Clifford captures the hearts and minds of children everywhere through his popular educational books and television show.

5. Beethoven

This cuddly St. Bernard was the perfect addition to his family. He may look huge and scary, but everyone knows St. Bernards are as huggable as they come.

6. Benji

There is a common theme with the dogs we've chosen for our list and Benji is no exception. Since his original film in 1974, Benji was always there for anyone who needed him.

7. Old Yeller

We can't think of Old Yeller without getting a little bit teary-eyed. The film is a Walt Disney favorite and the dog is an American staple.

8. Astro

The family dog for the Jetsons, this futuristic great dane is always down for a good laugh session when his owner, George Jetson, gets himself in yet another unfortunate situation.

9. Scooby Doo

Also among the most well-known cartoon dogs is Scooby Doo. Don't rely on Scooby to help you out when a ghost is around (he's a bit of a 'fraidy cat), but he'll always be there when you need a good laugh!

10. Toto

He's a tiny dog, but a big character in The Wizard of Oz. We could never forget his name with it being part of the famous line "We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto" by Dorothy.

11. 101 Dalmatians

We're counting this spotted family as one big, happy unit. How can you choose one over the other? Nope, when you pick one, you pick them all!
