'Tis almost the season to be jolly, but now 'tis the season to be thankful! We think it should always the season to be thankful, to express gratitude for the wonderful things in our lives. The holidays are a great time to express your sentimental side.

If you're reading this you are most like a pet owner, or at least a pet lover, and we want to see the furry faces you are so, so crazy about!

Post a picture of your dog(s) to our Facebook page and tell us why you are thankful for him/her for a chance to win a year's worth of dog treats! We will draw a name at random at the end of the day on Sunday, November 23, 2014.

We are pet lovers too, obviously - it's why we're in the dog-biscuit-makin' biz! Here are just a few reasons our employees are thankful for their canine counterparts….

Dog: Gimme, 7-year old pekingese

"I am thankful that he has filled a little part of the hole we were left with since we lost our beloved Bubba. I am thankful for his cheery face and wiggly wags when ever I come home. And I am thankful that he is starting to learn to trust us, so he isn’t so grouchy."

Dog: Reggie, 7-month old chocolate Labrador

"Top 10 Reasons I Am Thankful for Reggie

1)  If I need to justify a new shoe purchase, I just leave my old ones lying around, Reggie will surely destroy them.
2)  Reggie motivates me to get up off of my butt at least 2 times per day to take a walk and/or run (or risk above destruction).
3)  The floors are much cleaner since Reggie's arrival.
4)  His booming bark keeps likely predators at bay.
5)  Reggie's 'enthusiasm' for our cat Albert has assisted in Alberts weight management program.
6)  Our family has rediscovered long forgotten Seattle parks in our endless pursuit of tiring Reggie out.
7)  The joy (and frustration) he brings to my children.
8)  Reggie is a great car companion, never asking 'when are we going to be there?'
9)  Unlike my children, I can put Reggie in his crate for a little rest aka 'a time out!'
10)  I am most thankful for what the future holds as Reggie matures into a coveted member of our family."

Dog: Mackey, 13-year old Staffordshire bull terrier

"I'm thankful for Mackey because he's a very important part of our family. He's funny, sweet and the most affectionate dog I've ever had.  His big-headed couch potato-ness is adorable too... he's really cute and I'm not just saying that because he's mine.  Food and ways to acquire it have always been a huge motivator in Mackey's life.  He has his own Facebook page that is largely dedicated to this subject.  He's getting up there in age though (about 13) and his hearing isn't what it used to be so cats and squirrels can sometimes get the best of him. What can I say?  He makes us laugh and we love him."

Dog: Blue Dog Bakery Office Dogs, Havana (6-year old black Labrador) & Maggie (2-year old Goldendoodle)

"While I don't have a dog of my own, I am extremely thankful for our office dogs. There is something about being welcomed to work by a tail-wagging pooch that gives every day a great start. It's hard to have a bad day when there is a smiling dog sitting patiently next to you, waiting for a treat. And while they can sometimes be a distraction (i.e. bad gas, accidents, whining…) and their fur is all over the place (this is really more a lack of proper vacuuming), it's all a part of their dogness. Nothing like a good dog hug, quick tug-break or training session to keep a smile on your face -- or turn your day right around."

With one of our favorite holidays just around the corner, we couldn't resist the urge to sccour the web for the most adorable (and hilarious) dog Halloween costumes of the year. We must say - we are pretty doggon' impressed by the energy that some folks put into their pets' costumes. But hey, at least people like us get a little amusement out of it, right?

Below are some of our favorites this year - the ones that had us in stiches from laughing so hard, the ones that amazed us by how much thought was put into the costume, and the ones that we thought were so adorable there was no way we couldn't include them in our post.

So here you have it. Our Top Dog Halloween Costumes of 2014. Enjoy!

1. Alligator Dog

While a little gruesome, the idea is pretty hilarious, you must admit.

2. Bunny Dog

This one seriously made us say "Awwwwwww!" a million times.

3. Gnome Dog

He has the white beard and everything. It's just too darn perfect.

4. Old Golfer Dog

Seriously!? This is one of the funniest costumes we've seen. It looks like it fits his personality too perfectly!

5. Game of Thrones Dog(s)

There are some serious Game of Thrones addicts out there. These pups are giving John Snow a run for his money.

6. Lion Dog

Honestly, we think any dog dressed up like another animal is hysterical. But this lion takes the cake.

7. Minion Dog

Everyone wants to be a minion this year. We get it, dog. We get it.

8. Ninja Turtle Dog

The turtles have made a comeback in recent years. 2014 is no exception.

9. Sesame Street Dog

One of our favorite childhood shows EVER. How could we not include Big Bird in our list?!

10. Winnie the Pooh Dog

This dog's face is even funnier than the costume. The poor thing can't wait to escape!

There you have it! We'd love to see some of your dogs in their costumes this year!! Email your pictures to BlueDog@BlueDogBakery.com for a chance to be featured on our Facebook page!

"Even if something is left undone, everyone must take time to sit still and watch the leaves turn."

These pups might not know how to sit still, but they definitely don't need a pumpkin spice latte to enjoy the newest season. They're happy simply with what Mother Nature provides for them - buckets and buckets full of crisp, colorful leaves, cool breezes, and picture-perfect scenery. We should all follow these dogs' examples and take a moment to appreciate the beauty of our changing seasons.

Now..... go outside and enjoy every minute of this ever-changing world!
