'Tis almost the season to be jolly, but now 'tis the season to be thankful! We think it should always the season to be thankful, to express gratitude for the wonderful things in our lives. The holidays are a great time to express your sentimental side.
If you're reading this you are most like a pet owner, or at least a pet lover, and we want to see the furry faces you are so, so crazy about!

Post a picture of your dog(s) to our Facebook page and tell us why you are thankful for him/her for a chance to win a year's worth of dog treats! We will draw a name at random at the end of the day on Sunday, November 23, 2014.

We are pet lovers too, obviously - it's why we're in the dog-biscuit-makin' biz! Here are just a few reasons our employees are thankful for their canine counterparts….

Dog: Gimme, 7-year old pekingese

"I am thankful that he has filled a little part of the hole we were left with since we lost our beloved Bubba. I am thankful for his cheery face and wiggly wags when ever I come home. And I am thankful that he is starting to learn to trust us, so he isn’t so grouchy."

Dog: Reggie, 7-month old chocolate Labrador
"Top 10 Reasons I Am Thankful for Reggie
1)  If I need to justify a new shoe purchase, I just leave my old ones lying around, Reggie will surely destroy them.
2)  Reggie motivates me to get up off of my butt at least 2 times per day to take a walk and/or run (or risk above destruction).
3)  The floors are much cleaner since Reggie's arrival.
4)  His booming bark keeps likely predators at bay.
5)  Reggie's 'enthusiasm' for our cat Albert has assisted in Alberts weight management program.
6)  Our family has rediscovered long forgotten Seattle parks in our endless pursuit of tiring Reggie out.
7)  The joy (and frustration) he brings to my children.
8)  Reggie is a great car companion, never asking 'when are we going to be there?'
9)  Unlike my children, I can put Reggie in his crate for a little rest aka 'a time out!'
10)  I am most thankful for what the future holds as Reggie matures into a coveted member of our family."

Dog: Mackey, 13-year old Staffordshire bull terrier
"I'm thankful for Mackey because he's a very important part of our family. He's funny, sweet and the most affectionate dog I've ever had.  His big-headed couch potato-ness is adorable too... he's really cute and I'm not just saying that because he's mine.  Food and ways to acquire it have always been a huge motivator in Mackey's life.  He has his own Facebook page that is largely dedicated to this subject.  He's getting up there in age though (about 13) and his hearing isn't what it used to be so cats and squirrels can sometimes get the best of him. What can I say?  He makes us laugh and we love him."
Employee: Lara T.K.
Dog: Blue Dog Bakery Office Dogs, Havana (6-year old black Labrador) & Maggie (2-year old Goldendoodle)
"While I don't have a dog of my own, I am extremely thankful for our office dogs. There is something about being welcomed to work by a tail-wagging pooch that gives every day a great start. It's hard to have a bad day when there is a smiling dog sitting patiently next to you, waiting for a treat. And while they can sometimes be a distraction (i.e. bad gas, accidents, whining…) and their fur is all over the place (this is really more a lack of proper vacuuming), it's all a part of their dogness. Nothing like a good dog hug, quick tug-break or training session to keep a smile on your face -- or turn your day right around."

On September 13, 2014, Blue Dog Bakery attended Strut Your Mutt in Salt Lake City, Utah. Check out the recap by Nicole Wood, who was the lead brand ambassador! for this event!

"This was our third year at Strut our Mutt, and as always, it did not disappoint! This year was by far the busiest we have seen; there were more pups and owners than you can imagine!

A fun, unique thing to this year's Strut Your Mutt was the Owner and Dog Costume Contest. An award was given to the best dressed dog & owner in matching costumes. There was quite a variety of costumes and it was fun to see the pride people take in being a dog owner. (See image)

The Blue Dog Bakery treats were an absolute hit (no surprises there)! Big dogs, little dogs, all shapes and sizes enjoyed the take home treats and were excited to see us at our booth. People also loved the Blue Dog Bakery waste dispenser bags that attached right to their dog's leash. The most frequently heard comments were that these were "genius" and "convenient".

Our favorite thing was getting to talk to loyal Blue Dog Bakery consumers about how much they appreciate our high quality products and how safe they feel giving them to their dogs. It's great to be part of a brand that cares so much about their consumers and their pets.

Overall, Strut Your Mutt SLC was a great success in 2014. We had an amazing time and were delighted to represent such an awesome company.
