Summer in the City – enjoy!

Howdy from Blue Dog Bakery,

Days are getting shorter, the vine maples here in Seattle are starting to turn red and I, for one, am not ready to see summer go. We have had a very cool and wet summer – unusual for us here in the NW where we usually bask in warm summer days this time of year. Compared to some of your 90+ degree days, I guess we have nothing to complain about. So go out, have a last swim in the lake with your doggie, go to the dog park and make a new friend and give those doggies of yours an extra hug from us. - Margot

The Test:

“It may be said with reasonable accuracy that my wife, Bernie, is an animal lover (current census: 2 dogs, 12 cats, one each horse, donkey, sheep, two goats, fifteen chickens, nine goldfish, all pets) so keeping them happy is important to her, and she knows how.

Every morning at feeding time, she goes through a ritual taste test with the dogs. Each is given the choice of either a Blue Dog Bakery biscuit in one hand, or another brand in her other hand from those collected in her relentless pursuit of her pets' pleasure. So far, Blue Dog is undefeated. Some of the contenders have been so-called gourmet dog biscuits that cost more than we'd ever have the nerve to spend on ourselves. Mel (short for Melifira) and Molly - both were rescues. Mel is pretty deaf from ear infections, but somehow divines the opening of a biscuit box from phenomenal distances (maybe with that tongue, like a snake).
