December 2011
December
It's the holidays!

Happy holidays from your friends at Blue Dog Bakery!

Above, Bubba says, "Ho, ho, ho!" and would like to remind you to pick up a box of Doggie Cremes - or your favorite Blue Dog Bakery treats to help celebrate the season.

As the end of the year approaches (quickly) and we anticipate 2012, I would like to invite you to let me know about any dog-related events that you are planning or participating in in 2012. We are getting our list ready (and checking it twice!) for 2012 donations, as well as events we'd like to participate in.

Give those dogs a big "happy holidays" hug from me!

Lara

We chose from each pool of photos submitted on a monthly basis -- so please re-send your photos each month if your pooch is not chosen.

Quick Tips: For the Holidays

As the holidays fly by, we can sometimes get caught up in the cooking, shopping and plentiful social gatherings. As a result, we might forget about the little things that could affect our canine companions. We compiled a list of quick holiday tips to help you get through the busy season, and ensure those tails keep on waggin'.

  • If your pooch has a tendency to chew, keep electrical cords out of reach to avoid electrocution.
  • Keep lights and ornaments off the lower branches of your tree. Also, avoid glass ornaments that break easily and can cause paws and mouth injuries.
  • Holly, mistletoe and poinsettias are poisonous to dogs. Keep them above nibbling reach to avoid a potentially ill or fatal reaction.
  • If you plan on having a large gathering of people that could be overwhelming to your pooch, consider having him stay with a neighbor or family member, or taking him to doggie daycare.

We wish you the happiest of holidays this season!!
