"Gracie is a 4 yr old Beagle and Golden Retriever mix. She is a
registered Therapy Dog and visits Nursing Homes and Hospitals regularly.
She is a very smart girl who can do approximately 30 tricks including
playing Patty-Cake, Break Dancing, the Hokey Pokey and flipping a treat
off her nose and catching it. Of course the treats she loves to catch

For several months we have been working to teach her to nod her head "yes"

“I have a farm and my daughter lives on that farm with two dogs, one of which is her big 95 lb baby, Maggie. When working down there and wanting companionship, I gave the dogs treats so they would stay with me. Maggie, being a little over weight, caused me to pay more attention to what I bought and the low-fat Blue Dog treats appeared to be just the right thing and being dry would be great to carry in my pockets. My daughter told me later that Blue Dog Peanut Butter & Molasses was her favorite treat of all kinds when I had left a box down there.

So I come home from the farm and a few Blue-Dog cookies were still in my pockets when a dog out for a walk smelled the treats in my pocket and would not take NO for an answer. Her name was Brinkley and I told her, after shaking her paw, that a second treat would be waiting for her on a white rock up near the house.

Soon Brinkley was walking with a neighbor Neila, so more treats had to be left out and these dogs walked in the morning and afternoon. But when we started putting treats out 4 and 5 times a day we had no idea how many dogs were stopping by the house. Brinkley now has a bad hip and has lost 7 pounds, but still has her Blue Dog treat since it is on her diet!

Due to rain and a dog that was breaking out of it's yard to run to our house, I had to abandon the white rock for lockable glass containers. Neila now has a house mate, Mac, so there are three dogs that are fed treats twice a day at our house besides the farm dogs that still love to see that silver Ridgeline pickup come rolling up that rocky road in Paint Lick, KY.

Thanks Blue Dog, I have 3 girlfriends and 2 boyfriends that love to see me coming, of course the bribe with the Blue Dog treat might have had something to do with that. I also keep a box in the truck, not just for the farm, but for when I meet dogs on the road."
